MOTHER EARTH AWARENESS DAY

Join us on April 6, 2008 for an Ecology Awareness Day.

The Greater Boston Church of Spiritualism joins forces with the Watertown Solar Challenge to raise the awareness of the community.

The movie: “ An Inconvenient Truth” will be shown following our regular 10:30 AM service.

Following the movie will be a discussion by Lisa Alexander and Brain Hebeisen.

Lisa works for the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection as an Environmental Engineer as well as being a member of the Watertown Environment & Energy Efficiency Committee and the Watertown Solar Challenge Committee.

Brian also is a member of the Watertown Environment & Energy Efficiency Committee and both will be available to answer any questions as well as offer suggestions and more information on what you can do to help.

Please remember that this day also kicks off the GCS recycling collection program. Please bring any old used cell phones, digital cameras, PDA’s and/or printer ink cartridges to the movie. Together with Recycling For Charities and freerecycling.com we can help reduce the effects of electronic waste in our landfills.

The goal of recycling e-waste is to prevent it from gathering in landfills where it can harm the environment. Cellular phones and other small electronic devices contain toxins such as lead and mercury that can leak out of landfills and contaminate sources of drinking water.

What we take for granted today may not be there tomorrow for our children.

The Greater Boston Church of Spiritualism provides an evolving spiritual community with abundant opportunities for individual expansion of self-awareness and the freedom to explore a deeper relationship with Infinite Spirit, God.

With our guiding principles, we share our values and beliefs to uplift and encourage all.
